I started working with people through Reiki/Energy work and transpersonal growth and development. I spent over 15 years doing this work prior to going back to Grad School to become a therapist. I have created my own unique approach to therapy by combining my background in reiki and transpersonal development with mental health. I pull in a combination of techniques and approaches, like:
Mindfulness techniques
Grounding practices
Emotional processing
Transpersonal therapy
Solution-focused therapy
Person-centered therapy
Brainspotting
Arts and crafts
Bringing in your interests and hobbies
When I’m not in the office you’ll probably find me doing yoga, reading, watching a movie (Star Wars and Lord of the Rings are personal favorites), baking or enjoying the outdoors. One of my favorite places to spend time is at my parents farm where I can enjoy the peace and grounding energy of the outdoors and the animals there.

Callie Barfield, LPC
Licensed and can see clients in Wisconsin for therapy and can see clients anywhere for coaching. Works with clients 18+ years old.
Social conditions teach us that pleasure must be "earned", and that our worth is directly linked to our productivity. I am passionate about collaborating with individuals looking to find joy by identifying barriers to pleasure and rest, and developing a deeper understanding of beliefs that contribute to one's own discomfort with pleasure.
I approach therapy with the understanding that you are the expert on your own life. My role is to help provide a safe environment for you to explore, feel, and make sense of your experiences and emotions. Together, we will explore ways to increase compassion and acceptance and lean into pleasure so that we feel more prepared to better cope with these changes and stressors. I see therapy clients at our office in Wauwatosa and virtually across Wisconsin.
